The MATS bootcamp assignment for March was to draw pairs of things which evolved into salt and pepper shakers. I loved this quirky little project! I enjoyed the challenge of thinking of various types of pairs and drawing them and would never have considered designing salt and pepper shakers on my own. This class takes me comfortable out of my comfort zone.
I’ve just finished my first project for Portfolio Bootcamp and am happy and surprised by what I’ve come up with. I’ve never, ever used pastels before and never even thought about magnolias - probably of where I live. The assignments in this class are broken down into parts which makes them easier to approach and super fun because when you start, you don’t really know what the final will be. SOOO excited for next month!
I used the little available work time over the holiday break to put this valentine collection together. This time I added a couple of stand alone images that would look nice on cards or prints.
A few weeks ago I visited my 6 year old’s k/1 class at Teton Valley Community School to talk about what I do and to create a pattern with them inspired by their school. Each student drew an element that I put together into a fun, colorful pattern. There are rainbows, alpacas, chickens, lots of sunflowers, a couple of maps and even a a pregnant pink unicorn.
